Weaponeer Forums: Max-11 Upper For Mac
REVIEWS - Welcome! This site was designed to fill an information void with the M-11 family of weapons. As you have probably already noticed, there is a ton of misinformation on these guns floating around the net.
I hope to correct this problem by centralizing “how to” guides, product reviews, and troubleshooting fixes on this site. I hope this website will be of use to everyone from the complete M-11 noob, to the M-11 experts. For those wondering, all full-auto weapons on this site are legally owned and registered. I will not provide information on illegal conversions nor provide tech support to those who own an illegal full-auto. Thanks guys NEWS THE ORIGINAL MAC-11.NET WEBSITE HAS BEEN UNAVAILABLE FOR QUITE SOME TIME but was an outstanding reference for MAC owners, including tutorials on and remove-and-replace of the (FCG). In November of 2013 when it seemed clear that the original site was gone for good, the site was 'resurrected' here at MAC-11.INFO by ' from the. Except for a few updates, the majority of the content here was not generated by the current host, and credit goes back to the creator of MAC-11.net.

Finally finished my Cobray SBR project. After welding the PS stock to the lower I turned it over to Dan @ Arclight Precision to have it cerakoted. Shout out to Dan for the great job and super quick turnaround time. The new MA side cocking upper receiver was much darker than the original Cobray finish and I think it looks great with black graphite cerakote. Looking forward to another range trip. One of the most significant improvements was the addition of a MA disconnect hammer to remove the annoying trigger slap.
I had to make-up some sleeve bushings to adapt it to the smaller Cobray hammer pin but it was well worth the time. It's much more enjoyable to shoot when your finger isn't getting banged up. More information about the bushing sleeve in my UziTalk forum thread. A pic of the sleeve and hammer installed in the lower prior to cerakote. Mine has a happy switch.
And I can do slowfire without using a huge tall upper to do it. The MAC is already pretty big. Making it longer is silly. Might as well upgrade out of the MAC platform, if you're going to sink a bunch of money into an MG.
I'm already budgeting to ditch mine, and get an M16. But before that, I need a side charging upper from MPA. Top cocking uppers are, well, crap. As you can see, if you get just SLIGHTLY the wrong cocking knob, it will rotate. And the places online that sell them won't very well tell you if the sides are machined flat or not.
My bad for losing the one that originally came with it. I'll be getting a replacement GOOD knob when I order the upper from MPA. Mine has a happy switch. And I can do slowfire without using a huge tall upper to do it.

If your going to fork out the money for an M16, you are better off buying an MP5 Variant, preferably an MP5K. Add an MK-9K or YHM WRATH XL 9mm Subgun suppressor and they are actually Very controllable, much cheaper to feed, and Suppresses Great. MP5-SD is great fun, but heavy to carry and bulky. M16 is not very controllable (with Practice it is but??) There is a reason the military cut the FA out of there standard issue weapon, except to certain units, or to a couple persons in a squad. It fun for about 2 min, then it is expensive, and you burn through barrels if one has the financial or ammo to keep squeezing that trigger.
YMMV depending on one's situation.
